Iwata City Old Mitsuke School

Hosting its completion and opening ceremony in 1875, this elementary school building, with wooden Giyofu style (pseudo-Western-style architecture), is the oldest one in Japan. Currently, it exists as an educational resources museum, with exhibits of educational resources and classroom recreations in the interior of this five-story Western-style building. It was used as an elementary school building until 1922, and then as Mitsuke Middle School, a teachers' training school, a judo exercise hall, and a women's sewing school. Along with the private library, Iwata Library, on the north side, it is designated as National Historical Ruins. Every year in August there is an event for elementary school children in which they wear kimonos and experience what class was like in the Meiji and Taisho periods.

訪問日は月曜日なので残念ながら休館でした。説明書からですが、ここは明治８年に造られた現存する日本最古の木造擬洋風小学校校舎です。見附天神に行く途中に有りました。無料のようですよ。
歴史を楽しんでみてきました

今回は磐田歴史検定の問題解決のため行ってきました。５層からなる旧見付学校も隅から隅から隅まで展示物を見て周りました。階段は急で上り下りが大変でしたがゆっくり上がってきて来ました。５階からは磐田市内は見渡せ、市内の景観も楽しめました。中は資料館になっていて、教育の歴史や教科書・江戸時代の見付の地図などに手楽しんできました。また歴史の好きな人たちを案内したいです。
懐かしい教科書も置いてあります。

磐田市にある元小学校の校舎です。中を無料で見学することができます。昔懐かしい教科書や戦前の教室を見ることができます。無料の施設としては、見応えがあり1時間は楽しみながら見学することができます。駐車場が狭いので要注意です。
