Nishitanna Parking Lot

This is a parking lot on the Izu Skyline, which runs along the mountain ride within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Right before your eyes, you can see the straight valley Tanna Fault, which runs from the Tanna Basin to Tashiro Basin. The Tanna Fault was created by the past repeated activity of the Kita-Izu fault zone. Recently, the 1930 Kita-Izu Earthquake created a longitudinal shift of over two meters. From the parking lot, you can see the scene of the slope of the Taga Volcano dipping gently into the Tanna Basin, then rising up once at the Tanna Fault, and dipping back down again.
