Suruga Kite Workshop Takohachi
Suruga kites were originally made and flown by the vassals of Lord Imagawa Yoshimoto as a victory celebration, and are characterized by their gills at the bottom and vivid kite paintings with a large human face in the center. There are three main types of vivid kite paintings: samurai, kabuki, and children's. They depict historical figures loved by people in the Edo period, as well as characters from stories.
