Seiunji Temple

The temple is a family temple of Tominaga Yamashiro no Mamoru, lord of Dohi Takaya Castle in the Izu Suigun (navy), and is home to the Shichimen-do Hall, which enshrines a seven-faced maiden who is believed to be beneficial for the fulfillment of good relationships and marital bliss, and the Gakko Jizo, which many students visit to pray for success in entrance exams. The main hall, built in 1832, is designated as a tangible cultural property of Izu City, and is home to 90 paintings on wooden panels, each the size of a tatami mat, depicting the life of Nichiren Shonin.

日蓮聖人の生涯を描いた板絵額があるお寺。長寿の石段が印象的で女性の御守護神の七面大明神（七面天女）がお祀りされている。日蓮大聖人一代記板額絵90枚は伊豆市指定の有形文化財で浮世絵師の歌川国秀氏の作品。明治２３年１１月に日蓮宗門篤志家の賛助により奉納されたそうです。

小学校と土肥支所の間を通り抜けると綺麗な赤門が見えて来ます。土肥のパワースポットとしても有名ですが、なんといっても日蓮聖人の一生を描いた90枚の大きな額絵と、77段の石段を登った所に祀られている七面大明神は必見です。
