"An official honjin inn where feudal lords stayed during the Edo period when going back and forth between Edo and their territories. They would travel in great processions following a system of alternate residence called ""sankin-kotai."" Of the 26 honjin in Kanagawa Prefecture, this is the only one left. The magnificent Japanese-style building has a high entrance with a family crest. It was used by the lords of the Takashima, Takato, and Iida domains in Shinshu and officials on duty in Kofu. It was designated as a prefectural Important Cultural Property in 1996."

甲州街道の本陣建築にて日野宿に残る[日野宿本陣（但し実際は脇本陣）]の鑑賞を機会に神奈川県に唯一残る本陣建築である[小原宿本陣]を比較の意味で訪問しました。こちらに宿泊したのが[高島藩][高遠藩][飯田藩]と 3万石程度の大名が宿泊利用していたせいかどうかは不明ですが本陣内の内装は質素な感があります。しかしながら [上段の間]から眺める本陣西側の[築山]に大きな燈籠があり[日野宿本陣]では...

山梨から東京への帰り道で偶然見つけて、立ち寄りました。時間もあるので、久しぶりに一般道で帰ったのですが、高速ばかり使っていると、このような場所には行けませんね。駐車場も入館も無料でした。本陣には、武家の籠や当時の物品が展示されていて、そこそこ面白かったです。
