This Japanese-style sweets cafe is situated along a street off of the main approach to the Nishiarai Daishi Sojiji Temple. Identifiable by its retro facade and sign with the cafe's name painted in huge characters on it, the establishment has been featured on a variety of television shows and in other media. The cafe's plain and orthodox Chuka Soba ramen is one of its most popular menu items; made with light, a chicken bone-based shoyu (soy sauce) broth and topped with a chashu roast pork filet, menma fermented bamboo shoots, naruto fishcake, and green onion slices, it has a simple flavor. In summer, the cafe serves beautiful, brightly-colored shaved ice, and many customers come here seeking this old-fashioned favorite.

昭和な雰囲気

西新井大師の参道に店舗を構えています。訪れたのが１２月ということもあって店頭には今川焼の赤い幟が。ランニング中でしたがフラフラと引き寄せられてテイクアウトしました。ちょうど焼きあがってき今川焼はちょっと小振りな昔ながらの味わい。昭和を思い出しながらのランニングとなりました。

西新井大師のすぐ近くのお店。夏はかき氷、冬は今川焼と地元民に愛されています。本当に昔からの大衆食堂。ラーメンはラーメンというより中華そば、さっぱり優しい味わいで胃がもたれません。あんこや黒蜜にはこだわりがあり、あんみつもとてもおいしいです。お勧めはところてん。関東風の三杯酢で食べるところてんではなく、関西風の黒蜜のところてんです。シンプルな分、黒蜜のおいしさがよくわかります。

西新井大師の参道にある食堂です、創業は大正時代、建物は昭和30年代と歴史ある食堂、店内のテーブル・イスも昭和時代の物が利用されています、店頭で今川焼の販売、食事は店内で、焼きそば、ラーメンが中心、昭和の雰囲気を味わいながらの食事もいいですね。
