Takatoge Tsutsujigaoka Park

Park / Green Space
This nature park is located on a 550-meter-high mountain pass northwest of Tarumizu City. The wild azaleas that grow across the entire park dye the mountain red and pink from late April to early May. The scenic park bustles with many flower-watchers who come to see the azaleas during the blooming season. An observatory near the mountain's 722-meter-high summit offers visitors a 360-degree panoramic view. It is possible to see mountains such as the Kirishima Mountains and Sakurajima as well as nautical scenery such as Shibushi Bay and Kinko Bay (Kagoshima Bay). The park features a large playset and open spaces, making it an appealing destination for families. Its free parking also makes it an easy choice as a destination for a drive.
