Ukishima Kannon-do Hall

Historical Monument
A hall dedicated to the goddess Kannon in Okkai, Tonemachi Town, Numata City. It's located along the promenade that runs along Fukiware Gorge. The temple was founded in 795 and the current hall was built in 1984. Enshrined within is the Ukishima Nyoirin-Kannon, said to have been carved by master craftsman Hidari Jingoro in the early Edo period. Annually on April 18th they hold the Ukishima Kannon Spring Festival.
