Murata Seifu Memorial Museum

Memorial Hall
This museum is located about a five-minute drive from Nagatoshi Station. It introduces the achievements and personalities of Seifu Murata and Masanosuke Sufu, two local wise men who played a central role in reforming clan politics during the turbulent political situation at the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate, through their belongings and other materials. In the main building, which was newly opened in 2018, the lives of the artists are introduced in panels with cartoons, and it is enjoyed for being easy to understand. Production tools (for rice, paper, salt and wax) and folk materials are also on display, allowing visitors to experience the history of the local industry and the lives of the people of that time.
