Tabuse Folk Museum
A local museum located a five-minute walk from Tabuse Station. The personal items of well-known figures with ties to the area are on display. These include the locally born Prime Ministers Shinsuke Kishi and Eisaku Sato (who were brothers), the novelist Doppo Kunikida, and the educator Yurin Tominaga. Exhibits include medals, important documents, and beloved personal items from various countries. Visitors can recall their accomplishments through panel displays presenting their biographies and audio recordings of historical speeches. In the first floor Archaeological Hall you can see a model of the Kunimori Burial Mound, which is estimated to be the oldest in Yamaguchi Prefecture, as well as artifacts excavated from the site.
