Sugi-jinja Shrine

Shrine
A shrine built in 1264 at Sugiyashiki in Mitsuseyama Village by Noda Suo no Kami Oe Kiyohide, a Settsu samurai. It's said that long ago the grounds had 10,000 sacred cedar trees and that Shinto rituals were held throughout the generations. At present, about 200 impressive cedar trees remain on the grounds and are considered sacred.
