Goshi Seika

Japanese Confectionery
This longstanding confectionary shop has been in business for over 90 years. The shop continues to make Sakura no Akebono, a delicate, pastel-colored confection which is one of Kikuchi's most well-known; as well as dorayaki pancake sandwiches; madeleines; and a variety of other sweets. Sakura no Akebono are a type of traditional rakugan candy which are made with a focus on creating an exquisitely moist texture. Made using Kumamoto glutinous rice and Kikuchi Onsen hot spring water, these soft confections have a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The crumbly rakugan outer crust is stuffed with a filling made with granulated sugar and glucose syrup. The shop receives orders from across the prefecture and beyond for this popular product to enjoy during New Year's, at weddings, and during the Doll Festival.

  • 桜の曙
    3.0 Reviewed : 2020.03.23
