This professional guide association provides fun, easy-to-understand information on the connections between volcanic Mt. Aso and its geosites. The association engages in a variety of guided activities which enable visitors to Mt. Aso to come in contact with and deepen their understanding of its wonderful geosites. The Aso Caldera, situated in the center of Kyushu, is 18 kilometers east-west, 25 kilometers north-south, and around 350 square kilometers in area, making it one of the largest geoparks in the world. It has 33 geosites in total, and the guide association makes it possible to create a variety of routes based on particular interests and the amount of time you have. Together with a formally certified, expertly knowledgeable guide, you can explore how this vast area came into being.
