Izena Village Community Folklore Museum, is located in the Izena, Izena Village, Shimajiri County. It serves as repository for materials about the history and folk culture of the island. Since Izena Island is the birthplace of King Shoen, founder of the Second Sho Dynasty, which ruled the Ryukyu Kingdum for 400 years until the Meiji Period, the museum, contains many items connected with the royal family.

    伊是名島の文化も勉強できますが「尚円王」生誕の地であることから王家ゆかりの銘苅家収蔵品として国王や王族から賜った贈り物をはじめ、美しい漆器なども展示されています。

    こぢんまりしてますが、伊是名の歴史や文化、主に尚円王にまつわるものですが、たくさんのものが凝縮された資料館でした。アメリカ統治時代の沖縄のお金などもあり、沖縄の歴史も同時に学ぶことができます。
