Yoshida Shuzo

Sake Brewery
A 20-minute walk from JR Makino Station. This longstanding sake brewery, established in 1877, is located near the Kaizu Sanku bus stop. Situated on the northwest shore of Lake Biwa, the brewery continues to make choice sakes using locally-grown Yamada Nishiki rice. The brewery's Chikubushima seishu refined sake brand, produced for local consumption, is quite popular; the brewery also sells autumn-only hiyaoroshi sake, a sake cake created in collaboration with a confectionary shop, and more. The brewery's Kinmon sake is a staple for both momentous and sad events.
