This highland resort hotel's vast, water and greenery-encircled grounds are replete with golf courses and tennis courts. The hotel's onsite natural hot spring bathhouse, the Tarao no Yu, is also open to non-guests. The bathhouse consists of the Nishiyu bathing area with a hinoki cypress bath and salt sauna, and the Higashiyu bathing area with a jacuzzi and kamaburo steam bath; which area is the men's and which the women's alternates on a daily basis. The bathhouse also offers a wide variety of other baths, including an outdoor bath, Shigaraki ware tsuboyu round single person baths, and a lie-down bath. The waters of the bathhouse' mildly alkaline simple spring are said to promote health and aid recovery from fatigue.
