Takiguchi Orchard

Takiguchi Orchards was certified as an eco farmer and is located along the so-called “Fruit Line” (Prefectural Route 296), which runs east from JR Jinmachi Station. One can find all sorts of fruit here, including Satonishiki cherries, Ikeda and Kawanakajima peaches, Fuji apples, LaFrance pears, and other fruits typical of Yamagata Prefecture. Cherry season runs from June to early July, mid August to mid September is the season for peaches, late October to mid December is the season for apples, and visitors are welcome to pick fruit during these times. The area devoted to cherry and apple trees is more than 10,000 square meters, so visitors have plenty of room to roam around and pick fruit. The orchard has a large parking lot, and a further advantage is that access from Sendai is quick and easy.
