This historical building is on prefectural route 311 in Okanhigashi, Izumita, Shinjo City. There is no official record of when it was built, but the appearance and architecture suggest it is a common farmhouse from the mid-Edo period. It is a nationally designated Important Cultural Asset, and they offer free tours all year except in winter.

家の中は囲炉裏があり板間で柱はススで黒くとても雰囲気のある農家の家です。１８世紀中頃の建物でまさにタイムスリップした感じになるものでした。
保存状態がいい

18世紀に建てられた農家の家らしいのですが、結構大きく、豪農だったのかと思われます。農機具や台所道具なども展示されています。自然の中で、風情あるたたずまいでした。
