Tsuya no Oyanagi

This willow tree is located in the Tsuya, Tozawa Village, Mogami County. The large tree is estimated to be 500 years old, is located close to the point where the Mogami River and Sake River merge together, and is said to be the largest willow tree in Japan by trunk circumference. It is said to have grown from willow chopsticks that somebody stuck in the ground after they had finished using them.
