Higashichichibu Village Washi no Sato
This facility complex with the theme of Japanese paper is located in Mido Higashi-Chichibu Village, Chichibu County. It is also called “Roadside Station Washi-no-Sato Higashi-Chichibu.” In addition to a workshop where you can observe and try out techniques involved with handmaking traditional local “Hosokawa paper,” they also have other facilities including a paper making building built during the Edo period, exhibits for traditional culture, restaurants and a food court. These are also direct sales stores for Japanese paper products and agricultural goods.
