A natural area in Tokorozawa City covering nearly 1000 hectares has been developed to allow the people to come into contact with the local nature of the Sayama Hills and to encourage them to consider the importance of nature and its relationship with humans. There are five themed locations centered around a center area which is home to the Ikifure Flora and Fauna Interaction Center which looks at living things native to Arahata, Tokorozawa City. The different locations are connected with a nearly 13- kilometerfootpath from east to west and you can explore the area following the signposts.

狭山丘陵内にあります。狭山丘陵内のハイキングの途中で寄ると良いと思います。近くには西武園ゆうえんちや菖蒲で有名な北山公園があるのでそれとセットで行くのもよいかもしれません。

子供を連れて行って来ました。西武線の下山口駅から歩いて20分ほの場所にあり、周辺は豊かな自然に囲まれています。充実した生き物の展示で子供も興味深く見ていました。裏には荒幡富士があるので時間のある方はそちらもどうぞ。

狭山丘陵にある小さな建物のセンターですが。ここで生息する生き物や植物など、説明や展示がされていて結構楽しめました。また緑がとても気持ちよくてハイキングコースにはとてもいい場所です
