Fuba Hachimangu Shrine

Shrine
520 years ago, the court noble Ichijo escaped the Onin War and founded a stronghold in Nakamura to manage a manor; he divided and re-enshrined the spirits of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Yamashiro Province, creating the main guardian deity of the Hata District as well as the guardian god of the Ichijo family at this Hachiman Shrine. The main shrine was designated as a National Important Cultural Property in 1963. Festivals include a portable shrine washing ceremony on a Sunday around July 14 on the old lunar calendar; a yoimiya festival two days before Sports Day; and the shrine's main festival the day before Sports Day.
