Museum of Shishi World

Museum / Science Museum
This folk museum presents the history and culture of the Tsurugi area. The museum building is notable for its abundant use of wood and its striking, artistic design. In particular, the museum looks at traditional lion dancing, and its exhibits include a wide variety of lion dancing masks not only from across Japan but also from Korea, China, and other countries around the world. Particularly striking are the museum's pair of masks over two meters tall, the largest in the world. There are also informational panels which introduce the history of the Tsurugi area, and a souvenir and gift shop selling local specialty products.
