Samurai Residence of the Old Uchiyama Family

Historical Monument
A historical building in Shiromachi, Ono City. The Uchiyama family is known for the brothers Shichiroemon Ryokyu Uchiyama and Ryusuke Yoshitaka Uchiyama who sought to bring about political reform in the Ono Domain during the late Edo period. This mansion was built in 1882 after the death of the brothers and has been registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. Tea ceremonies are held on weekends and holidays in April and May and again in September and October allowing you to enjoy matcha green tea while looking out over the garden.

    越前大野城の城下町を散策するにあたり、一番大きな武家屋敷で、観光にははずせない場所です。幕末期、大野藩の財政再建に多大なる功績を残した内山兄弟を輩出した内山家の屋敷です。綺麗に整備された数寄屋風庭園は素晴らしいです。

    大野にある最も大きな武家屋敷です。建物は主屋、蔵など5つからなります。屋敷の脇を湧水が流れ、ゆっくりした時の流れを感じます。
