Uriwari-shozu Spring

Other Sightseeing Spot
This spring is said to have sprung up in the hoofprint of the horse of Zuisen-ji founding priest Shakunyo, about 600 years ago. Legend says that Shakunyo named it after a gourd (uri) presented by local villagers broke open (wari) because the water was so cold. The delicious water has been selected one of Japan's Top 100 Famous Water, and people come from even outside the prefecture to taste it.
