Shinobu Mochizuri
This temple is a historic site and a place of scenic beauty. It enshrines a statue of the Sho Kanseon Bosatsu created by the famed priest Gyoki Bosatsu as its primary object of worship. After ages the temple grounds have been visited by countless writers and artists including Masaoka Shiki and Ogawa Usen. Near the center of the temple grounds sits the Mochizuri Stone, which tells a story of tragic love. The grounds also feature a number of temple buildings include the Kannondo Hall and the Tahoto Pagoda, which has been designated as a Prefectural Important Cultural Property. Monuments bearing haiku by Matsuo Basho and Masaoka Shiki and classic Japanese poetry by Minamoto no Toru and Takuan Soho Osho have also been erected.
