"The museum founded in 1979 introduces the history and culture of the Shirakawa region. The museum's permanent exhibit is entitled ""The History and Culture of Shirakawa."" It includes materials dating from primeval to ancient times excavated in Shirakawa City and the surrounding region including Jomon pottery, Haji pottery, Sue pottery, and ancient roof tiles. The exhibit also includes ancient documents and artifacts from the middle ages as well as materials from the early modern period related to Komine Castle, its castle town, and its lord Matsudaira Sadanobu. Other exhibits include also features materials related to the Boshin War."
