Tachisoba Maruya
This soba restaurant has origins that trace back to the Maruya Ryokan, an inn founded in 1872. Their finely-cut tachisoba noodles are a tradition dating back to the restaurant's founding that is currently carried on by its seventh-generation owner. It, along with their Hatto buckwheat and rice pounded mochi, are beloved as delicacies of Hinoemata Village. Upon entering the restaurant, your eyes will be drawn to the tables made from a centuries-old Japanese horse chestnut tree. There is also a tatami-matted seating area, so customers can choose the seating option that best allows them to relax. The restaurant closes for winter from late November to late April.
