Hashiba no Banba
This stone statue of a banba (old woman) is located along the approach to the Hinoemata no Butai kabuki stage and the Chinju Shrine. It was originally worshiped as a god that protects children from drowning. In more recent years, however, it has become a place where people offer rusty scissors to tie the knot with a good match and sharp scissors to cut ties with bad matches.
