This is the shoreline of the Yura Town of Hidaka County. This area is the Wakayama Prefecture Shirasaki Coastal Natural Park, selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Shorelines. The outcropping cliffs are ideal for diving, fishing, and other leisure activities for which a roadside station and a campsite are available. This coast is also planted with over 100,000 daffodils are scattered across the coastline. During the season when the clusters of yellow and white blooms are at their peak, the tufts of flourishing colors sweep the beautiful coast.

The setting for many a Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail, Wakayama invites those in search of spirituality from one side of the prefecture to the other, from the 100-plus Buddhist temples of the sacred Mount Koya in the west to the inspiring temples of the Kumano Sanzan set among breathtaking nature in the east. Once the grueling hike is complete, make a beeline for Wakayama city to savor some of the country's most delicious ramen noodles.
