This museum is approximately ten minutes on foot from JR Yuasa Station. It occupies a public bath house founded in the Edo Period (1603–1868) in Shimoshincho, part of Yuasa's Important National Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. The current structure was built in the early Meiji Period (1868–1912), and the locals used it for recreation until it closed in 1985. The town restored it after taking over the property, and it maintains the look of years gone past. The bath house has posters from the Showa Period (1926–1989) and old telephones, and the main hall has a collection of donated stage props on display.

醤油の町湯浅にあるお風呂屋さん。下新町の小道にあり、建物内部が公開されています。お風呂屋さんじたいも興味深いですが、裏の家屋部分も残されていて、資料館になっています。当時の生活様式も知れることができます。
民芸品が展示していました

利用されていない銭湯を利用して湯浅の民芸品等を展示しています。昔使ったような電話なんてとても珍しいく感じました。神輿の展示も有ります。無料ということも有りますが、是非湯浅を観光することが有ったら寄ってみてください。

日本国内に数ある資料館、博物館の中で [銭湯]そのものを再利用し一般公開している所はとても珍しいのではないでしょうか。更に[銭湯]建築物の中に寺院と比較してもヒックリするような立派な《唐破風》屋根の玄関を持つ[銭湯]を過去何ケ所も訪問したことがありましたが他の方も投稿されているように[菱型の開口部]や[トンカリ；六角錘の瓦飾り]装飾を持つ[銭湯]建築物を初めて訪問しました。[甚風呂...
