Roadside Station Kutsuki-Shin-Honjin道の駅 くつき新本陣

Michi no Eki Road Station

A roadside station situated along National Route 367 in Kutsukiichiba, Takashima City. The station sells local dishes like mackerel sushi and fermented narezushi and tochimochi chestnut rice cakes, as well as naturally grown shiitake mushrooms and other local agricultural and specialty products. The station is adjoined by an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant serving dishes made with fresh, local ingredients and a morning market is held at the station every Sunday.

商品の補充はほとんどないので、寂しい売り場になっています。野菜類はまあ普通、さほど買い得感はありません。狙い目は栃餅や鯖素麺など地域の食品、あとは時季の山菜ですかね。鯖寿司は専門店で買った方がよいと思います。

若狭湾から京都市内まで100㎞近い距離の鯖街道の中で、かなり標高の高いところにある道の駅です。街道沿いには大人数で集まることのできる場所も少なく、そういった意味でもここは重要な休憩地のようです。案の定、ライダーやクラシックカーのグループが大集合していました。

琵琶湖をぐるっと回ってみたときに、偶然寄ったのですが、
鯖街道というだけあって鯖を使ったものや、
鯖以外にも鮒寿司など関東の人間には
普段あまり見慣れないものが置いてありました。
地元の方が作ったものばかりで好感がもてます。
(道の駅によっては全く違う県の商品が売ってたりして
がっかりすることがありますよね。)
