Yamamiya Sengen-jinja Shrine
A shrine located in Yamamiya, Fujinomiya City. It is about 6 kilometers north of Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha. It is said to be the origin of Mt. Fuji worship in which Mt. Fuji is venerated as a god, and the Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha was relocated from this mountain shrine in 806. Even now, it maintains the ancient Mt. Fuji rituals as a distant place of worship for direct adoration of Mt. Fuji.
