Sakuma Dam
This dam is located along the Tenryu River in Sakuma Town, Tenryu Ward, Hamamatsu City. Among domestic hydroelectric plants, this dam boasts one of the largest electrical supplies. The dam lake-Lake Sakuma-features good scenery and is part of Tenryu-Okumikawa Quasi-National Park. The banks are a famous flower-viewing spot for Yoshino cherry blossoms in spring, and during the Sakuma Dam Ryujin Matsuri in late October, there is a raijin no mai (dragon dance), fireworks set off over the lake, and other events.
