Azuri Beach
This coast extends for approximately 200 meters along the Shima Peninsula. It is a wide, shallow beach with gentle waves and is very popular for swimming in the summer. Because it is west-facing, in the evenings, especially in the summer, the whole coast is painted red with the sunset, making it an extremely scenic spot. It is also famous as a filming location, where movies such as Yellow Elephant were filmed. In the middle of the beach, there is a small island called Suzume Island, which also gives the beach the name Monster Beach, because at certain times of the day, the island appears as the head of a monster that bites into the sinking sun.
