Hakuba Happo-one

Mountain
"A mountain located in Hakuba Village, Kitaazumi County, Nagano Prefecture. ""Happo-one"" means ""mountain ridges in all directions,"" a reference to the spurs which extend in all directions from Mt. Karamatsu in the Hakuba Mountain Range. Many people come here to enjoy trekking, and the course is dotted with scenic spots overlooking Happo Pond and 11 of Japan's 100 most well-known mountains. Rare alpine plans and Natural Monument-designated species such as Japanese serow and ptarmigans live in the area."
