Saito Museum

Art Museum
This private museum centered on tea ceremony items is located a 20-minute walk from Nagara Railway’s Gujo-Hachiman Station in Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture. It exhibits countless family treasures such as the tea bowl “Ayase” and incense container “Koshi Zakuro” that have been appraised, and were collected over 270 years by the heads of the Saito family, who had deep relationships with the feudal lord of Gujo. While gazing at the courtyard that rings with the clear sound of water, you can spend a relaxing time in the adjoining cafe that serves matcha green tea. In addition, they also sell traditional Japanese miscellaneous goods.
