Roadside Station Kirira Sakashita is located only a six-minute walk from JR Sakashita Station on the Chuo Line, It stands on the right bank of the Kiso River, surrounded by mountains that change color throughout the four seasons. The name “Kirara is a compound of “Kiso, “river, and “right side. Inside the facility is an area where visitors can try making their own soba noodles under the guidance of an instructor according to traditional methods, using flour made from high-quality buckwheat grown on the grounds and learning how delicious handmade soba is. They can also practice making such local sweets as Gorin Manju and Kuri Kinton (a dish made with chestnuts and yams) in a lively and playful atmosphere.

坂下の道の駅で、愛知へ戻る時に利用。国道19号線から、木曽川ひとつ離れているので、他の19号線沿線にある道の駅に比べ空いている感がある。またお土産も木曽エリアで売っているものとは差別化されており、ちょっと楽しい。自分は八百津せんべいシリーズ、米豚カレー、ハーブ鶏かれー、青唐辛子カレーを思わず購入してしまった。Wifiも利用可能で駐車場も広いので利用しやすい。

R19から少し離れた所にある道の駅…素朴なお品書きながらも、地元の素材を生かした優しい味付けに感動しました。又、従業員の方の対応も良く気持ち良く食事をする事が出来ました。

道の駅なんて、どこも同じかと思っていたのですが、ここに売っているものは結構安かったです。特に、せんべいよりどりみどり、5袋で千円は、破格値。他にも心そそられる漬物なんかもおいてありました。
