Roadside Station Wajima

A roadside station built on the site of the former Wajima Station on the now discontinued Noto Railway. Located close to the city center, the station aims to be a new area gathering space and is outfitted with facilities such as a bus terminal and taxi stand. The station's brand new facility building features lacquered support pillars and the exterior is modeled after traditional Wajima architecture, with a gabled roof and latticework. The station also has a waiting area and tourist information center which includes a desk specifically for international tourists. The station's shop sells specialty products like Wajima lacquerware and seafood. A portion of the original train station platform and tracks have also been preserved to the delight of train enthusiasts.
