Yamashiro Onsen Yamashitaya山代温泉 山下家

Hot Spring Ryokan

"A long-standing hot spring inn famous for its outdoor bath on the roof which offers a sweeping view of the Kaga Plain. In addition to this outdoor bath, the facility also has men's and women's indoor baths and private baths. The bath waters come from a sodium and calcium sulfate and chloride spring said to alleviate nerve pain, muscle pain, and fatigue. The inn's guest rooms are primarily Japanese style and carry the kind of elegant atmosphere one can only find in a long-standing inn like this. During dinner, the inn serves buffet style ""jiwamon"" Kanazawa home cooking made with local ingredients. The baths can also be used by non-guests and the inn offers a day trip bathhouse plan which includes a buffet dinner."

          Ishikawa Main Areas

Long, thin Ishikawa prefecture runs along the Sea of Japan up into Noto Peninsula. Highlights of the seaside towns lining the west coast include Kanazawa, often described as a "Little Kyoto" thanks to its old wooden tea houses and geisha culture as well as its picturesque Japanese garden, Kenroku-en.
