Local Cuisine

"A Japanese restaurant serving original cuisine located close to the Omi-cho Market in Kanazawa. Here you can enjoy creative Japanese dishes crafted by the owner, who trained in a renowned restaurant in Osaka. The establishment is so popular, lines form in front of its door before it even opens. Emphasizing homemade, handmade and the use of select tableware, the restaurant's visually dazzling dishes can be enjoyed with Noto sake and local Kaga liquors. Particularly recommended (and particularly popular with women) is the ""Wateishoku"" lunch set, limited to just 30 customers a day. This variety-rich set comes with sashimi, takiawase, salad, and several different side dishes. Diners can choose between white rice and 15 grain rice. The set also comes with a post-meal cup of coffee."

Long, thin Ishikawa prefecture runs along the Sea of Japan up into Noto Peninsula. Highlights of the seaside towns lining the west coast include Kanazawa, often described as a "Little Kyoto" thanks to its old wooden tea houses and geisha culture as well as its picturesque Japanese garden, Kenroku-en.
