Founded in 1981, the Ichijodani Asakura Family Site Museum exhibits roughly 500 pieces unearthed from the Ichijodani Asakura Clans Ruins, including many items that are Nationally Designated Important Cultural Properties. Also, on display are excavated materials and topographical models of Ichijodani as well as a reproduction model, offering a look at the history of the ruins and the Asakura family.

The museum contains artifacts found within the ruins and a diorama of the valley as it would have been during the time of the Asakura clan. Explanations are only written in Japanese so it is helpful...

タクシー観光で一乗谷朝倉氏遺跡を訪れる前に立ち寄りました。
正直に言ってこちらの資料館を訪ねてから遺跡を訪ねて本当に良かったと思います。
450年前に滅びた朝倉氏と一乗谷の城下町が、奇跡的な保存状態の良さで発掘された一乗谷。
そこからの出土品などが多く展示されている資料館で予備知識を得たから朝倉氏遺跡に向かったので、様々なことがつながってより理解を深めることができました。

歴史素人にはやや分かりにくい展示内容だと思った。
