This is a library museum, founded in 1984, in Kahoku Town, known as the home of safflowers. In this building, the former residence of the wealthy merchant Shirobei Horigome, is preserved over 5,000 household items, weapons and literature. The straw weaving and safflower dying corners allow you to try their hand at these skills, and you can purchase local souvenirs and many safflower products at the museum shop.

武者蔵、紅の館は内部撮影禁止。奥の紅花ガラスハウスでは手入れされた花が咲いていました。オークションサイトに招待券が頻繁に出品されているので、興味のある方はこまめにネットサーフィンで要チェック。送料込み半額以下で落札できればお得。

山形で立ち寄り。河北町にある紅花資料館です。河北町では江戸時代には、特産の「最上紅花」が植えられ、京都まで運ばれていたとか。歴史ある建物や紅花にまつわる展示や資料など、奥深さと歴史を学べる、静かに楽しめるスポットです。
