Michi no Eki Road Station

This station is located along National Route 13 and Obanazawa Shinjo Road in Ashizawa, Obanazawa City. Adjoining the station is a shop offering an abundant variety of local produce, sweets, sake, and artisan crafts. One of the popular menu items in the diner is Obanazawa Suikara Reimen noodles, which combines the Obanazawa watermelon, local soba flour, and Tsuyahime brown rice flour. Other local dishes such as Japanese Yamagata black beef offal stew, and Obanazwa watermelon soft creams are also offered.

Review of Michi-no-Eki Obanazawa

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating

Michi no Eki Obanazawa

Although often overlooked, Yamagata prefecture by no means lacks appeal: the Yamadera temple trail through the mountains, deliciously tender Yonezawa wagyu, and over 100 steaming hot springs, most notably Zao Onsen, await visitors. When winter comes, the snowcapped peaks become dotted with skiers by day and onsen-goers by night, while summer brings the celebration of juicy Yamagata cherries.
