A roadside station standing along National Route 252. Here you can buy fresh, seasonal local produce, paulownia wood items, Oku-Aizu ami-kumi-zaiku woven wicker goods, and other specialty products. You can also eat oyako-don chicken and eggs over rice made with Aizu jidori chicken. Standing at the entranceway to Mishima Town, the station is frequented by many locals as well as tourists looking to take a break while traveling through the area.

少し歩いてビューポイントまで行きました。思ったよりも急こう配の小径を上がってゆきます。只見川の絶景が眼下に広がっていました。直売所で地元の天然のきのこを購入、これ絶品でした。
会津地鶏が魅力的ですが・・・

かなりの山間部にある為か、道の駅としての売店にはヤマザキ系列のコンビニが入っており、お土産の他に調味料や冷凍肉、雑貨も販売され地元の方の生活に役立つ商品も置かれています。今回はレストランで名物の「会津地鶏親子丼」を食べようと思っていたのですが、前日に鶏料理を食べていたのと、ソースカツ丼も別の場所で食べていたので「煮込みカツ丼」にしました。これは多くの地域では普通に「かつ丼」と呼ぶべきものですが...
