Oyaku-en (Aizu Matsudaira Clan Garden) (会津松平氏庭園 御薬園)

A Japanese garden located in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The garden was originally created in the Muromachi period as part of a villa built by Ashina Morihisa. Oyaku-en means medicinal herb garden -the name is derived from the many medicinal plants which are grown in it. Visitors can enjoy the garden's seasonal scenery as well as a cup of medicinal herb tea. The garden was designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty as one of the best examples of an Edo period daimyo landscape garden.
