An art museum located in Iwaki City. The museum's collection consists of over 1,900 examples of modern art from Japan and around the world as well as pieces connected to Iwaki City. In addition to a standing exhibition, the museum holds a variety of special exhibitions. The museum also has teaching studios and seminar rooms and holds lectures, art classes, workshops, and many other events.

特別展でエリックカール展をやっていたので行きましたが、子ども連れだけでなく、さまざまな年齢の観客で混んでいました。夏にはディック・ブルーナ展もありました。特別展では時々絵本作家展をしているので、子ども連れの方にもいいと思います。

モダンアートを中心に、バリエーション豊かな良いコレクションを保有している。カフェや展示方法で楽しませようということは無いようだが、いい作品を集めるという美術館の基本に忠実な作品収集と企画展示をしていると見受けられる。いわき駅から歩けます。

この美術館には今までに数回訪れている。ありがたいのは、６５歳以上のシニアには入場料無料の特典があることだ。会場はそれほど広いところでは無いが、展示物にはなかなか洒落たものが多く、楽しめる。散歩ついでに、ぶらりと入って、のんびりするという空間があるということでお勧めしたい。
