Nanokamachi-dori Avenue
A road in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. Part of the Five Aizu Highways during Japan's feudal domain period, because it connected with major highways leading to the major trading points of Nikko, Echigo, and Yonezawa, the street was lined with wholesalers, inns, and restaurants. An old fashioned air from this heyday still lingers here, and visitors to this popular tourist destination will find rows of lacquerware shops, restaurants, and sake breweries.
