Samurai Residences
Sakura was once a castle town, and former samurai houses stand along one of its streets: the former homes of the Kawara family, the Tajima family, and the Takei family. Built late in the Edo period, they offer a glimpse of the everyday lives of the samurai. Visitors are allowed inside the Tajima house, but the Kawara house is open only on special occasions.
