Ranzan Valley

Valley
This wonderful scenic spot in Saitama prefecture is quite famous for its fall leaves. When Dr. Seiroku Honda—a forestry expert—visited this area in 1928, he gave it the name “Ranzan Valley,” purportedly because the beautiful view of fall leaves and red pines around the gorge reminded him of Kyoto’s Arashiyama. There is a pathway around the valley for you to enjoy a casual stroll. The Ranzan Valley Momiji Festival is held every fall during peak leaf season. Lots of sightseers come to enjoy that.
